I'm Zac, the owner of Shady Business Window Tinting. I grew up on Australian muscle, after my dad's love of his XC Cobra. I personally started off with a couple of XR6's, Then XR6 Turbos, before the pull of Japanese performance got too strong to ignore. A Skyline R33 was the gateway, and from there it snowballed into BRZs, RX7 FDs, Evos, Integra's, and everything in between. If it's got a modification scene behind it, chances are I've been down that rabbit hole.
That obsession with cars is exactly why I started Shady Business. I know what it means to care deeply about a build, to sweat the details that most people walk straight past. Tinting Background
It all started with a piece of film, my FD RX7, and way too much confidence. That first attempt at tinting my own car was rough enough to catch the attention of Brett, owner of Empire Window Tinting in North Lakes, Queensland, one of Brisbane's most prestigious tint shops. In 2021, Brett offered me a job, and over the next year he taught me everything. Empire runs the same philosophy Shady Business does today: no shortcuts, no rushing, just exceptionally high quality work on every single car. That attention to detail Brett drilled into me never left.
In 2023 I made the move to Melbourne, and what started as tinting a few mates' cars on weekends for fun quickly got out of hand in the best possible way. Word spread fast, and before long I was booked out every weekend working on some genuinely cool builds. Three years on, what began as a weekend hobby has grown into a full-time business, built entirely on reputation and the quality of the work. The next chapter? A proper shop of our own, and we can't wait.
